Seiki Soho is a Japanese term that combines "sei" meaning "life" or "vitality," with "ki" referring to "energy" or "spirit."

Soho combines "so" meaning "manipulation" with "ho" meaning "technique."

Therefore, Seiki Soho can be understood as the "technique for working with vital life energy."

Seiki is the core and art of Shiatsu and its natural evolution.

It focuses, trough touch and connection between therapist and receiver, on the activation of the natural, spontaneous movement of Life Force to release stagnant information registered in the body’s memory and restore a state of harmony.

It is a progressive clearing process.

Benefits of Seiki Soho:

  • Emotional Release: Facilitates the release of pent-up emotions.

  • Physical Well-being: Helps alleviate physical tension and stress.

  • Energy Flow: Encourages a free flow of life force, which can enhance overall health.

  • Clarity and Insight: One can gain clarity and insight into unresolved issues, or unconscious patterns.

  • Deep Relaxation: Induces a state of deep relaxation, reducing stress and promoting a sense of inner peace.

  • Enhancing Sensitivity: The practice helps in refining physical and emotional sensitivity.

  • Support in Transformation: Guides individuals through processes of change and growth.

  • Spiritual Growth: Helps individuals to align with their inner truth and higher purpose.

When mental control and inhibitive mechanisms are relaxed, the natural movement arises as a primary force of healing. Coming to awareness as something extraordinary yet extremely normal and ever-present, it’s a natural, automatic and intelligent force that continuously moves us towards harmony, homeostasis and health, from the grossest to the subtlest layers of our being.

As a therapist, I aim at creating a calm, supportive environment and attune myself to the subtle energy field of the receiver. The resonance between us allows the spontaneous movement to manifest. Through presence and gentle touch, I connect with the receiver and let my intuition to guide me throughout the session.

During a session you may experience  the release or acknowledgment of dystonic information stored in the body’s memory, confront and process deep-seated feelings, stress, repressed emotions and traumatic information. The release often occurs through external or internal spontaneous movements, frequently accompanied by a trance-like state where the receivers perceive themselves in a dream-like state or in a deep and restorative sleep.

Each person has a different experience according to their needs, unique makeup and history, and the specific layer of healing that is currently unfolding for them.

Commonly, they report signs of a more regulated nervous system and express a sense of coming back to themselves.

Pain or imbalances in the body often return to a harmonious state, even if illness itself isn't the center of attention as we work on the body-mind system as a whole.

Being in a session is, for me, an ongoing experiential process. it is a practice that deepens through the presence of another, creating a powerful, soul-to-soul connection and a profound, compassionate mirroring of our inner experiences.

It is a spiritual practice of awareness, surrender, respect, and radical truth.

Zen Shiatsu

Fascia Release

Fascia tissue is the three-dimensional, resilient, malleable and elastic connective tissue that bones, organs and muscles are literally floating in.

It is so deeply interconnected with the nervous system that it is suggested to be the largest human sensory organ.

If the muscle is the “doing” tissue, providing us with the ability to move and act, the fascia is the “being” tissue, because it provides containment, shape and space for life to unfold.

Fascia is like a motherly hug. When fascia is well hydrated, healthy and free from restrictions, it is like a womb that provides the feeling of safety we need for our actions to happen effectively.

The memory of physical and emotional trauma is stored in fascia tissue in the form of restriction.

Because of the interconnectedness that characterizes fascia, a restriction anywhere will affect the whole system through physical tension (look up the concept of tensegrity) and also  communicate through the nervous system that something is off, keeping our body in a constant state of increased alertness.

The Fascia release technique that I integrate in my treatments, is a process of listening and allowing. It’s about establishing a deep connection with the natural movement of fascia through a very specific kind of touch. I listen and recognize, the movement gets free and guides the healing process of release, reconnection, embodiment and empowerment.

I learned this technique from Gabriella Poli, whom I met for the first time at a workshop in 2016. Just watching the way she worked completely changed my way of being in a session. Since that first encounter, I’ve continued to learn, explore and work with the fascinating universe of fascia.

Shiatsu

Shiatsu is a Japanese technique of healing.

The core principles of shiatsu emerged from concepts that are core to traditional Japanese culture, namely essentiality, attunement, non-doing, allowing and receiving.

In Zen Shiatsu, the meridian system of Traditional Chinese Medicine was distilled down to the essence of each meridian’s specific function as it relates to the totality of the human experience.

Physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual aspects of our lives are approached as an interconnected whole.

The intricate beauty of Traditional Chinese Medicine, with its dynamic interplay of nature's elements (metal, earth, fire, water, and wood) within the human system, is felt directly trough the hands and heart of a Shiatsu practitioner, complemented by the understanding of Western anatomy.

Thanks to the dedication of geniuses like Shizuto Masunaga, Pauline Sazaki and others who devoted their lives to understand and development of a systematic approach to this complex beauty, Shiatsu has become accessible to a wide audience, and we now have access to it in many professional schools worldwide.

I'm forever grateful for the knowledge and insight gained during my education in Zen Shiatsu which will always be naturally present in my back of my hands, although, with Seiki, I've entered a new era of feeling and freedom that aligns more closely with my essence.
